I recently purchased a box of chocolates. Within one of the sweets there was a small metal object. I rang the manufactures customer service and they have ask me to send it in to them. Any advice on what I should do?

Re: Poor quality control?

They have asked you to send it in to them. I would send it by registered post and a cover letter. What else were you thinking of doing with it?

Re: Poor quality control?

I think i will do that. Thanks for your reply.

Re: Poor quality control?

Yep, send it back and await their reply.

As Manda said, send it registered too

My kids were having Birds Eye fish fingers one day and one of them found piece of plastic. I rang customer service, they sent out an envelope to send them plastic.

They sent me €10 worth of vouchers for Birds Eye products!

As an employee of a confectionary company, I can guarantee you that this issue will be referred to the highest levels of quality management (and indeed production management) immediately. Metal in finished product constitutes a catastrophic breach of any companys' internal auditing processes, which are themselves a fundamental part of food manufacturing legislation.

take photos and registar letter.did you see in last weeks paper a lady pullled 15 staples out of her babies baby food jar in the uk.
