I bought a new Triton shower about 9 months ago to replace one we had for about 8 years. We had no problems with our old one until the end when the pressure was going. We got a Triton service engineer out who said to buy a new one as it was old and worn.
Bought a new one in Tubs and Tiles and had it installed by a plumber from one of their lists (though they distinctly say they don't take responsibility etc.). Went fine for a while - after a couple of months the pressure dropped again - got a Triton service engineer back out who said it was installed incorrectly & gave me the impression he had fixed it. He said the installer hadn't used any lube or something which had worn down a pipe and that he had put on some lube which had fixed the problem.
Anyway about 2 months later - same problem with lack of pressure. Triton sent another service engineer (this should all be under warranty as it's less than a year old) who said that the shower wasn't installed correctly at all - that 8 years ago when we got the original shower (which we never had a problem with) that plumber used some shortcuts and connected it to pipes instead of directly to the water source which was putting strain on the new shower. So when the 2nd shower went in the plumber just installed it the same as the old one which was incorrect.
Apparently we now have to get the shower reinstalled and have no recourse to either Triton or Tubs n Tiles.
I understand that legally I don't have any standing as the warranty does not cover incorrect installation but a) it's odd how the original shower installed the exact same way was fine for 8 years and b) surely Triton should ensure that their showers are installed correctly (in an ideal world) and Tubs n Tiles should be able to recommend plumbers that know what they're doing.
I know I could ring the original plumber but what's the point when he did it wrong in the first place. So now I'm at the mercy of a Triton recommended plumber who can charge anything.
A nice little letter to the MD of whoever inTriton might not go amiss in light of the fact that the first two engineers do not appear to have done their jobs properly, that is, if the last guy is correct.
It took 3 visits from Triton engineers for this problem to be spotted and explained properly.
