Bottom of hill- - will plumbing leave a stink because of this?

The property I am interested in is at the bottom of a hill. My guess is the plumbing situation leaves a stink as it is the bottom of a hill. Can anybody shed some light on this.. Is there a way to stop the stink or are houses at bottom of hills stinky and that's it?
 
What do you mean by a stink?

Is the house connected to a public sewer system? Or does it have a private drain?
 
Is the smell coming from inside or outside the house?

A smell is an indicator of an issues with the internal or external plumbing or perhaps something like a dead animal decaying in the area, not just being at the bottom of a hill.

You're probably right and I just couldn't get my head around anyone thinking that was actually a thing! :D
