Boroimhe/Bovale development in Swords

I have to say I'm happy with Boroimhe. Especially since the shopping centre has opened in the last few weeks. I reckon it's by far the best estate built around there in the last few years in terms of reasonably well planned, good insulation from airport noise/next door neighbours, reasonable bus route access into town (although Santry has become I mess in the last few weeks in particular).
But then I would say that if I own there wouldn't I.

I'd be interested to know where is better in Santry? as I was recently around the gym at Northwood and I couldn't believe the noise from the airport when certain flight paths are used. If flights are taking off at 6am it must get pretty noisy around there.

I'm trying to follow what's going on generally in terms of any possible property market correction at the moment, but with Boroimhe and the south Swords area I'm inclined to hold out with the metro due to come...................eventually...................

Arthur wait until the new parellel runway becomes operational then Boroimhe will really know what aircraft noise is all about.Northwood suffers from it when the shorter runway is in use but fortunately this is only when strong southerly winds occur or the main runway is out of action for repairs.
Residents of Portmarnock are mounting a campaign against the new runway and they are miles away.Ime amazed Boroimhe residents dont seem to be aware of this pending noise issue.

As a pilot for one of the major airlines and having a few properties in Boroimhe , I can assure you that a new runway will not make much difference to noise levels in this estate. The new runway is planned to be parallel to the old one and although it will be north of the original runway, it will be only slightly closer to Boroimhe. The main runway in Dublin is R/W 10/28 which is 100 degrees and 280 degrees, effectively East/West. Boroimhe is north of this main Runway and not in the take off flight path. The other Runway is 16/34, rarely used and also not in the take off flight path.
I am also hopeful that the Metro which will be stopping at Nevinstown adjacent to Boroimhe and airside offices, will have an effect on property prices in the area. At worst the Metro will prevent property prices in Boroimhe dropping as much as other areas.

I suspected this wasn't a big issue for us but wasn't sure, I know Clare Daly mentioned something about this runway affecting all areas including Boroimhe and Ridgewood, but that was all I've heard. Thanks for clearing that up.

I've noticed a big increase in supply of properties in Boroimhe over the last few weeks, but I've yet to notice any price drops in this estate. For sure asking prices have stopped going up, but it's about time at this stage.
