Bora or Skoda Octavia

Hi folks,

I'm trying to make my mind up between a Bora or a Skoda Octavia, around the 04 / 05 year.

I'm personal moving towards the Bora, but thought I'd get a few peoples thoughts first??

Pal of mine had 2 x Bora 1.6 petrol.

He had a lot of trouble with them and service costs were enormous.

I've also heard a number of bad stories about Bora. Friend has one and doesn't think much of it to be honest.

The Bora is about to be replaced with a "new" VW Jetta. Another Golf with a boot.

I'd sooner walk or cycle than drive a Skoda!

Octavia is a fine car and exceptional value for money. Do a quick google for "Octavia road test" or the like and make your own mind up, increasingly Skoda are scoring very highly on owner satisfaction and reliabilty surveys.

I have a 03 Skoda TD. Good value, trouble free, huge boot and great fuel economy.
