Booster pump

I'd like to boost the pressure of the tap hot water in my house. I have a gravity fed indirect system and the flow is rubbish. I have been advised by a friend that all i need to do is to fit an automatic demand shower pump in-line between the header tank and the system below. Lucky enough both the hot & cold are gravity except for the kitchen potable tap so in theory the balancing side of it sounds ok. I made some enquiries and have been offered loads of alternatives by the experts, but most seem to be expensive options of replacing the existing system with pressurised storage tanks, with a plethora of accessories and modifications required.
Is it ok to do as my mate suggests?
What is the least expensive way to go?
The shower pumps seem to be in around 300-400 euros, is this what I can expect to pay or is there a less expensive source?

thanks

I have recently had a Salamander Shower Pump fitted in the hot press to 'pump' 2 showers. It is a 2 bar. It is a Salamander CT79. The plumber is charging €480 for this pump (including VAT but excluding labour to fit it) and he is not forthcoming with the details of where he bought it???? My questions are:

1. Is this expensive for this pump?

2. How can I get a guarantee for the product if I don't know the supplier?

Any information / help appreciated!!

No wonder he's not telling you. It's €306 inc VAT [broken link removed].

Your guarantee would not come from the supplier, as you have no contract with them. It would be with the fitter who you bought it from.
