My Dad is trying to book a flight to the US for the summer. The same flight is €849 on an Irish travel website, €778 on Continental's European site & €642 on Continental's US site.
Does anyone know if booking on the US site would be restricted to US citizens & if so, could someone else book a ticket under his name & pay with their credit card?
Anyone who knows or has done so before, would appreciate guidance. Thanks.
Sometimes an overseas billing address can be a problem in the US but if you know someone there who is willing to use their card for you then there is no problem. I've booked flights in the US for people flying from Europe a few times.
I've heard it's almost impossible to book internal US flights via the internet if you're a non-national....
If you buy via the American website, be careful that US immigration don't get the hump and start questioning you very closely. Answers such as "I saved a fortune" might not suffice.
More and more stories are appearing in the newspapers about harsh treatment of non-nationals visiting the US by immigration.
