E extopia Registered User Messages 3,129 19 Apr 2005 #2 Booking deposit you pay to the estate agent is refundable. Once you sign a contract and put down the (usually) 10%, it is NOT refundable. Bottom line is, don't sign the contract unless you want the house or can afford to lose the deposit.
