Hi,

My friend is considering writing a book about an amazingn sporting challenge that he has managed to succeed in. However, he doen;t knw where to start in terms of finding a publisher.

Can anyone here start by pointing us in the right direction for our research ?

I can highly recommend two books - the Writers and Artists Yearbook 2005 and The Writers Handbook 2005. Both books have specific Irish sections and tell you exactly who to contact in terms of publishing companies and agents, if you have a book to sell. For non fiction, it's usual to have a couple of chapters written and a synopis before approaching publishers but the rules change from company to company.
