Hi all,

Beginninng trip back to Dublin when a hunfred yards down the road, the bonnet popped up and back, smashing winscreen and denting roof.

I would be confident the roof could be 'popped' back in but the bonnet wouLd need replacing and also the windscreen. I have fully-comp with Quinn Insurance but am already 'loaded' with a hefty premium (2k) from an accident in March 2007.

My question is - should I fix this myself or go through the insurance ?

And also how much should I expect to pay - I will get it repaired down at home - Carlow prices not Dublin prices.

Thanks.

Curious as to the make of car was? I saw on a TV programme a few months back that this was a specific known fault on Renault Meganes. Is there a possibility that you would be covered under warranty?

Nissan. Unfortunately not.

Someone said in work that thus could be caused due to error on my part - but wouldn't this be the case if I crashed it into a wall - I don't see any difference ?
