BOI app payment authorization

What am I doing wrong!! I can't seem to use the payment authorization when doing on line purchases on my phone.
If I hit the tap for approval , and complete the authorization through the app , then when I hit return to seller I'm back to having to input the payment again, my head is fried!! How do people do it, do I need to split screens or something to have both visible at the same time? Or do I have to use a computer along with the app on my phone , Help!!

Has it ever worked for you on a different phone or with some websites and not others or have you always had this issue? Did you test out using computer like you mentioned? I tend not to do much online shopping using my phone, prefer the bigger screen for Amazon for example. But doing authorisation with BOI app and going back to web page on a mobile should work.

Don't click that button from the banking app - just go back to the app that you had open for the purchase, which should then be updated after you authorised the payment.

Oh I didn't grasp that you were trying to go back to the online shopping page from the Bank of Ireland app if that's how it reads?

Yes, you have to close the BOI app (and usually there are two instances of this in - at least with Android - that are open), and then go back separately to your website to complete your purchase.
