My current car is a 95 D BMW 318is. I bought it arounf May last year, and it currently is in need of a service (nothing wrong as far as I can tell, prevention better than cure etc...!). However, as it is an older car, there are some rust areas on the body, which I would also like to get fixed (little on bonnet, a bit around windscreen and a tiny bit on boot). While the car isn't worth a lot of money (due to age) it only has 78k miles on the clock due to previous women owners etc. It drives beautifully and I have no problem holding on to it for a few more years at least.
Can anyone recommend a garage/independent mechanic that can service and fix the body, without it costing an arm and a leg? the service is the more pressing issue, but would love to get some numbers on how much to fix the rust on the body before it gets too bad to fix easily.
Any help would be much appreciated.
