Just wondering if anyone has any views or feedback in relation to the service they received from either Blue Sky Mortgages or Mortgages.ie.

Thanks

If you're trying to decide which broker to deal with, enquire as to whether they're charging an "administration fee" or not. One may offer you a better service, but may be charging you a much higher fee. Have you dealt with both yet? J

Have spoken with Blue Sky - just an initial enquiry on the phone - they don't charge a fee and seem to deal with most of the lenders.

Have sent an email enquiry to mortgages.ie last week but haven't heard anytthing back yet - don't think they charge a fee.

Don't know about Mortgages.ie but Blue Sky are a collection of brokers, so the service received from one office may or may not be the same as in another.

i got a mortgage approval from blue sky, the girl works there called Geraldine is really nice and helpful, she got me a much much better rate and more loan than the bank could lend me. delighted!

Would this be the same mortgage broker that you mentioned was a friend in another thread last week?
What is this great rate that you have been offerred that is so much better than the bank?

huh? i dont think i have mentioned any broker last week. u might b confused with someone else. ah the rate is good, but depends on ur income and how much u wish to borrow&terms etc. so i have to go on 5yrs fix, but still better rate. plus more loans than i can get from the bank myself.

thanks for the reply, yeah i know which bank i can borrow money from, my friend is a mortgage broker. what i meant was if i cud get loan approval, then will DCC sell me the property? or do they have to consider it again?

haha. yeah good spotted it. yeah a friend's friend got me the loan approval who is working as a mortgage broker in blue sky. im happy with the deal she cud got me anyway, as i checked with the bank myself, they could not lend me much.

Finally some truth . Hardly a reliable recommendation though? Give us some facts and figures and we might believe you about the good rate you supposedly have.

haha. i always tell the truth. i just forgot i had posted smthing. well i got 5yrs fix 4.95%. and about 30-50 thousands more than i asked for from the banks myself. i know the banks will give u well over 5%, like 5.2% etc

well, if u want, i can give u her no. and u can check with her and the banks urself.

Did you get this deal recently? What bank gave you 4.95% for five years?

Hi, look, as i said it depends on a few things to get certain rate and how much they wud lend u. i dont think i suppose to disclose all the details. so the best thing to do is just to check with all lenders, and better use some mortgage broker to see the quotes they get back to u. in most cases, they wud get u a better deal. up to urself, it does not cost u anything to get the loan urself from the banks.

Not asking you to disclose any details apart from what lender gave you 4.95% for five years recently because you went through your friend in this particular broker. Should be nothing secret about that.

Sunny - First Active are offering 4.95% 5 year fixed rate - no big secret.

Grand. I was just wondering. There was nothing sinister in me wanting to know. It is just a very good deal. By the way they are not offering it anymore. Seems to have gone up to 5.2% but it seems to be only at the end of May so the poster probably got it before then. Thats why I was confused

The FA site is quoting APR's only - tha actual 5 yr fix is 4.95% - still available with or without a broker....
