Blood Tests - Are these allowed as part of "Medical Expenses" when doing tax return

Hi there,

My wife has to get her blood tested regularly. Does anybody know if these tests qualify as a medical expense?

I looked at the revenue web site and while blood tests weren't specifically called out, it does say "Items/treatments prescribed by a doctor/consultant (see below)" and one of the items on the "see below" list is "Diagnostic procedures".

Anybody have any ideas?
