Blocklayers in Offaly

Hello All,

I have just received Planning Permission, im thinking of going the Direct Labour Route. Can anyone recommend any blocklayers in the Offaly area. I have a limited budget of 140K, building a 1656 SF storey and a half. And by the way - how do you calculate the amount of blocks you need. Im a complete novice.

Dont tell anyone what your budget is, find out what price they'll do it for. Theirs alot of people looking for work now and prices are being matched accordingly.
 
you should be fine,

you should get some quotes of some builders too,

prices are way down
 
there is mention here somewhere on the place that lets you calculate the amount of blocks u need

i just got a price for 2600 sq ft house, 2 storey.. 10800..
 
generally 10 blocks per sq m....
remember that a double leaf wall has 20 blocks per sq m....
allow for approx 10% cuttings
 
the original post was in 2008, so the house is probably well finished by now!
