Blitz Alarm in Clontarf?

What is this howling noise going on for the last 4 hours around clontarf, sounds like one of those old fashioned air raid alarms...shall we go for the bunker?
 
no solution to this either.......i hear it last night and it was very annoying, if anyone found out what it was I would be very keen to know!

it stopped at around 11, sounded like a some sort of siren, something like air raid warnings in WW2 or maybe blast area warning in construction...would love to find out what it is, not the first time I hear it and it's so annoying. will definitely sic the city council onto them once I figure out what the heck is it.
 
I heard it, it sounded exactly like an air-raid siren. I've heard it about once a month for the last 4 months or so. Very strange - maybe ze Germans are coming :eek:
 
I went to school in Holy Faith, Clontarf. The Fire alarm sounded like air-raid siren. Maybe its malfunctioning?
 
there was a big power cut around clontarf yesterday evening, might have something to do with it
