Hi
I hope someone can help me I have just had a new extension finished and have very large sliding doors(roughly 4m x 2m) and would like to have privacy at night but dont want them covered up during the day as I love them.
Are there any good quality blinds that you can sort of hide away when the're not in use, dunno whether I am making myself clear. I just dont want to hide the frame or any of the light coming in.
There must be other people that have got blinds for this type of door I just hope they use aam!!

I have sliding doors and I have a semi-sheer curtain that I swag back to one side during the day. It looks great and provides some protection from very bright sunlight during the day without being a blackout, as well as privacy at night (and it also stops the glass from turning into one giant mirror when it's dark outside). My curtain is several sewn-together curtains from Ikea (because they didn't have any wide enough) http://www.ikea.com/ie/en/catalog/products/90135542. The tie-back I got from Michael Guineys.

Hi
You can get intergrated venitian blinds inside the glass of your sliding doors!
They work with a magnetic pullstring so they dont effect the thermal rating of the glass.
We looked at them for our own bi fold doors and while they are quite expensive, they solve so many problems when you have a wide span of windows(we have 6 metres so no blinds work for us)
They are available from a company called Clear Division call gordon 083 3730407
I saw them fitted into SUnparadise bifold doors at the RDS interior design show in May time
good luck

My parents had this in a house they lived in abroad and I thought it was the best idea I'd ever seen (esp as the blinds never get dusty!).
