Blessington & environs

Hi -

I'm looking for insight into living in Blessington and environs (meaning other side of lake and up to Kilbride and Brittas). The main things I'd like to know are:
- in general is it a nice place to live,
- how is the commute to Dublin centre,
- are there any crime, drug, anti-social concerns,
- how are amenities and services in general for families.

Always fancied living up around Lacken.

i can put my hand up and say blessington is a lovely area, i have lived there for 9 years and it such a nice place, we moved from Tallaght and my mum would tell you its the best thing she ever did.
People are nice, you get the odd fool but you get that everywere.

Bus's are the 65 goes into Dublin city centre, its a long trip but most just get the bust to tallaght and hop on a 77.

Brittis is also nice but its quite small, and lackin is a bit out of the way but also nice
