Black windows

hi everyone

just wondering what people's opinions / experience is of black windows? we were told by a window company that they will not provide a guarantee due to the sun heating up the frame and causing long term damage ...

the window company we are going with are giving a 10 year guarantee but never mentioned any problems with black windows.

really want black windows, think they look great especially as we are hoping to use dark stone.

is there anything to stop problems happening? has anyone had any bad experience with black windows?

why not go for block composite or hardwood windows, the you wouldnt have that problem.

thanks for reply! haven't heard of block composite windows, is it possible to paint hardwood windows black??? want black as using dark grey limestone to face the house

that above is just an example of what you can do.. and the link under is all colours available. I havent heard of any problem getting black aluclad windows.

You can by all means paint hardwood windows, just go by teh manufacturers recommendations.

We got black pvc windows about a year ago - no problems - but then we had no sun since! They look great, would never go for white or wood effect pvc again.
