Bin Tax relief

i know this answer is probably here somewhere but cant seem to find it.

but basically my question is can i get bin relief in my tax credits when i pay maintenance fees should covers the cost.

You need to ask your management company what amount of your maintenance fee is made up of waste charges.

The tax office used to give a fixed amount for bin tax relief ( Service Charges )

It was capped at € 195 euro ( 39 tax credit ) up to about 2 years ago before they decided to increase it to full amount paid in year .

In this instance , it was always ok to claim this amount regardless of how much paid and no receipts/ application form was necessary.

Therefore , if you dont know how much you pay , you would be safe claiming this tax credit ( € 39 )

i get a 32 eur tax relief for bins - rang up mgmt company - they gave me a figure - gave this to tax office and now its done automatically every year.

Don't think this is correct. One should always have necessary receipts in case of an audit by Revenue. Only spoke with someone in Revenue about this before Christmas and she confirmed this. You shouldn't claim relief for something that you haven't paid or if you do it may well come back to haunt you.
