Best web site design course

I wish to educate myself on designing and building websites. It is mainly for myself in that I have a few ideas for web based businesses that I would like to set up without having to pay huge sums to do so. At the same time I would like the course to be industry recognised if I wanted to pursue a career in the same.

I work full time at the moment so would be looking for a home study or part time course. Is there anyone on the board who could advise me. I found [broken link removed] which seems to be ideal for me but is this a recognised and valid course.

Also http://www.webmonkey.com is an excellent site. You won't get a qualification, but you will learn how to build a site, about e-commerce etc.
