Best voice recognition software

This will hopefully be used by a person who recently lost their hearing with probably a laptop, cost is not an issue if anyone else has any insight into other options. But if anyone has any experience with the software that actually will be able to handle a slow clear maybe 2 or 3 person conversation, or which direction to look in

Dragon dictate is the only one I have really tried, it was replaced by Dragon Naturall Speaking years ago! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_NaturallySpeaking . I think there a some voice recognitaion system build into MS Office but I have never used it.

I believe that Dragon have been one of the market leaders for this sort of application for a long time now. Does XP or Vista have anything built in?

Dragon were bought out by Nuance who are probably the biggest player in large scale commercial market, which can only be good for the accuracy of the NaturallySpeaking engine.
