I need to get a few pairs of trousers turned up an inch or so. Had been going to a local dressmaker/alteration service until about a year ago, until she upped her price from 8 euro to 15 euro just to shorten a hem.
No way am I going to pay 15 euro just for a simple alteration. I know one of the alternatives is to get a sewing machine and do it myself, but just wondering if anyone could advise me whether 15 euro is now the 'normal' price for turning up a pair of trousers?
And if its not, what sort of price is considered reasonable? I've rang three places this morning but none of them are willing to quote me a price without first seeing the item.
