Best time to book holiday abroad for summer 2007

When is the best time from a budget and availability p.o.v. to book a holiday for next summer in Europe. Reason I ask is that part of me thinks that by waiting until the New Year there may be sales but then again maybe it's best to buy the holiday now, help!

Personally i think as soon as you see somewhere you like and think is good value book it. We made the mistake of waiting till the Jan sales to book a holiday to Corfu a few yrs ago and we went down a day or two after sale had started and all the nice places gone. We ended up in a studio that was tiny and not the cleanist! Last yr booked in December and was delighted with where we got, well worth it! Totally up to you and your budget though
