Best Sat Nav system

Hi Its hubby's birthday soon and he would like a Sat Nav system but neither of us have a clue which to get. It would only be used for a weekend away maybe 3 or 4 times a year or a weekend drive not in everyday usage. Any advice appreciated. Many thanks

If Aldi have any left I'd go for one of them...same maps as the Garmins and the directions to 'turn left now' etc are given more in advance rather than when you're practically on top of the turn (a gripe with Garmin). 3 Year Warranty too and 28 day no quibble return if you don't like it. TomTom are less suitable for Ireland as the maps aren't as good for rural areas.

I've an Aldi one and I think it's great, but it's not the widescreen one which they had most recently.

yes, it's got western europe mapped (as well as Ireland and the UK, obviously)
