I haven't looked in a while but when I last checked, the AIB one made most sense for me (I just push all my daily and annual expenses through the credit card and use it as a way of budgeting, so easily hit 5,000).Trade Republic give 1% but it goes into a savings plan rather than being straight cashback:- https://support.traderepublic.com/en-ie/1215-Qu’est_ce-Saveback
Avant Money give €150 https://www.avantmoney.ie/credit-cards/rewardplus
The Bank of Ireland Aer Lingus credit card gives 1 Avios point for every €4 spent https://personalbanking.bankofireland.com/campaigns/aer-credit-card/2-return-flights-3/
The AIB Platinum Visa credit card gives 0.5% cash back but only for spend after the first €5,000 in each year https://aib.ie/our-products/credit-cards/platinum-visa-card
Yes I've been using this account since 2020 and find it perfect for our needsI received a letter from PTSB that the quarterly account fee will rise to €24 from July 1st. One of their suggestions is to open an Explore account.
Does anyone have experience of this account and the cashback? Seems like nothing to risk.
According to the Circle K website the saving is now 2c a litre via a PTSB card while its 4c if you apply direct to Circle K. In my own case I am closing one of 2 explore accounts this week. The other account I will keep as between the 5c cashback and €1.50 via Sky BB the fees will come in at circa €1.50 a month.Yes I've been using this account since 2020 and find it perfect for our needs
When we first joined it was because BOI removed my free banking so I looked for the cheapest alternative
Back then it was €6 per month but you got €.10c back an all purchases using their debit card
We had Sky tv and were with Airtricity so availed of these discounts
And there was a nice bonus of €0.04c off a litre of petrol with a Circle K fuel card
so all in all it was a little earner for us
Fast forward to today, Sky and Airtricity are gone for us
The ten cent has been reduced to 5 and the account fee is now €8 per month
So now rather then making a few squid it costs us about €6 per month after cash back
which I feel is just about acceptable to us, but do I really have a choice in the matter
We still have the fuel card and the discount but as far as I know anybody who applies for one from Circle K gets the discount
As regards the functionality of the account I've never had any problems with it, it does what it is supposed to do quietly in the background
More or less the same. However if you get locked out of your online account you will need to log in via a desktop or lap top to get up an running again. A pain if you happen to be traveling when it happens.Yeah from what I can see so far the phone app has the same functionality as the computer
As in anything I need to do on the computer is mirrored on the phone so it's probably a good idea to have both up an running
Afaik it's the same, €100K between accounts and daily transfer of €10k@Cervelo: Yep, I find the app very good, apart from the limits on future dated transfers(2k) and daily transfer limit (10k). Neither is a regular inconvenience.
I was really wondering if any of this functionality would change with Explore account?
