Can I make a BES investment in my wifes name and then claim the credits/allowances under joint assesment ( I don't want to make the investment in my own name as I want to be a discreet investor). My wife has no income of her own as she is a home carer.

in case of married couple, only the individual who has sufficient income in his/her own right can absorb the BES relief.
