Benefits for unmarried mother of three

Hi, a friend I know who already has two kids (16 and 13) is now pregnant again. She is a single mother. Can you please tell me what her entitlements are? Child benefit for each child, rent allowance, medical card etc? Just trying to work out approx how much she will be getting in welfare each month. She currently lives in a 2 bed council flat. Would she be entitled to a bigger place also? thanks.

The qualified child allowance for one parent family payment is 29.80 per week.

Does she have a medical card already? If her only income is a social welfare payment then she should have one, so it's just a case of adding the new baby.

If she's in a local authority flat, then she won't qualify for rent supplement as she's already in subsidised housing.

im just wondering would she be entitled to a bigger place now that she will have three kids under 18?

She can apply to her local authority for bigger accommodation, and will probably be placed on the waiting list.
