behind in life insurance payments with the morgage help ..

hi ..... we got behind in our morgage and the life insurance what goes with the morgage ... we hav caught up now with our morgage but we havnt with our life insurance .... to catch up we need to pay €1100 i simply dont hav it can i go witha different company for the cover and start over ...
i am with AIB and the policy is with ark life ..
