Would anyone know whether there are classes in or near Dun Loaghaire or South Co Dublin for total and utter beginners? Mr Mul has no knowledge of how to use one and I'm not good at teaching. Anyway don't they say that one should never try to teach someone close to you - though they usually refer to driving (cars). I have done a Fas course myself a long time ago but I think that one would move too fast for himself. While I wouldn't dream of calling him one, a course for total gob****es in computers is what would be ideal!
You're very hard on the poor guy and probably rightly so (woman after me own heart).
IMHO something like the [broken link removed](if it is still available) where he could work at his own pace would be a good starting point. He doesn't need to do the tests.

I have that but he isn't into that kind of thing. A small class where he can get individual attention - not Dr Moriarty's kind! - is where he would benefit. I did see an ad in one of the freebie papers by a retired man willing to give lessons to the computer illitterate but haven't seen it lately.
Did you try your nearest VEC? They run affordable night classes in computers. Alternatively www.nightcourses.com will give you a full listing of courses in your area. Wouldn't recommend ECDL for a beginner....
