Lads,

Never been anywhere near Maynooth in my life...i think....can anyone suggest somewhere to stay that is handy for attending early morning course on a Saturday in NUI Maynooth???

Maynooth is no countryside no more..you can get the 66 bus there and the bus stop is right beside the college..or even the train can take you there as well..

The 8 train from Connolly goes direct to Maynooth and gets in at 8.22.

The 8.05 train from Pearse (also stopping in all stations along the way) gets you to Maynooth at 8.46.

There are earlier trains.

Failing that, the Glenroyal Hotel is close enough to centre of town. I can't recommend any b&bs.

Sorry, meant to ask if you could tell me how close it is to the railway station when you arrive in Maynooth? Is it walkable?!

yep. you can see the college from the train station...
i think u can get the 66 bus from Trinity opposite the Pearse street gardai station

I've heard it's clean and cheap.

Yes I can confirm that. Email them at front.desk@nuim.ie and ask for a price. Last month I paid €29.20 for bed and a very good breakfast. The room was basic but comfy and clean. TV lounge a few feet away. Bathroom facilities were shared but there were few people staying so it was like my own en-suite!
