Got a call from AH, phase 2 being released and sold from the plans, due to be completed March 09.
Prices from 270k for 3 bed mid terrace to 310k for 3 bed semi d's, they said the houses are bigger then phase 1.

Anyone else get a call?

I am in the middle of purchasing a semi d in phase 1, I bought 1 of the 18 affordable houses that where released 3 weeks ago.

Is it an open day or by appointment, we q'd all night to get first choice of the 18 houses and there was a few out. So be prepared. We where told that phase 2 mighten happen. They must be going ahead,

I don't think it's an open day as the girl on the phone mentioned my appointment time.
I am on the AH list for Kildare, my app has been approved and I sent my reference number to the AH partnership.
You mentioned you q'd all night, were you on the AH list or just a mamber of the public as it was open to everyone from 1pm that day?

We where on the affordable housing list for Kildare since Jan 07,we just got a letter to say that there was an open day and it was on a first come first served. Thats why we q'd all night because of the 18 been released we wanted to get first pick.They are fab houses are you planning on buying an appartment or house.

It was an open day for all people on the list 35 applications where sent letters but there was only 18 houses. It was well worth the wait :)

Happy that you got a house but I think that is a really unfair way of doing things. There should be some choice and not a need to stay out all night.

It wasn't that bad really,we met aload of cool people who are going to be our neighbours. There was a good few people out that night, we did stay in our cars, and sandwiches where sent to us every couple of hours, durken also had breakfast roll/sanbos/coffee/tea for us the next morning.

To get the house you want, one night out of your life isn't bad :)
 
True and I wasn't having a go at you, I would do the exact same. I was just thinking that it would be better if the Kildare council had a better system in place. I'm viewing my place tomorrow in Dublin and 10 of us have an appointment to view 22 different apartments. Person top of the list has first preference.

Best of luck with the move, I hope I find my dream place tomorrow :)
 
Well thats good where are you on the list, or is it first come first servced.
