I work for a Dublin branch of a UK-based company
and there's a promotion in the offering, however it would probably mean a lot of travelling to-and-from the UK ... possibly up to 4 days a week at times, other times perhaps 0 or 1 day - but in general I'm expecting at least 2 days a week.
The job involves looking after aspects of both Dublin and two branches in the UK in particular.
Is there any merit in me looking to be actually employed by the UK company rather than being paid by the Dublin branch ?
I'm hopeful that they will agree to a suitable 'per diem' for the days that I am in the UK rather than relying on 'receipted expenses' as that's only a recipie IMHO for getting fatter and drunk! Furthermore I'm proposing that i would have an apartment rented on my behalf rather than in-and-out of Hotels, this should save money for them and allow me some level of normality and even be able to bring over the family perhaps at school holiday time.
Any suggestions?
