Bathroom Facilities in Workplace

Hi all,

Me and another female work with 5 other males in my workplace. There are two toilets in our office, one upstairs which we use and one downstairs which the lads use.

Recently one of the lads has been using the one upstairs though and i'm just wondering what the situation with sharing bathrooms in a workplace?

tbh It's not a major issue but we bring in our own hand towels and soap etc and always make sure the bathroom is clean, this lad is coming in leaving the seat up (with splashes i might add) i'd just prefer if it was for ladies use only?
Where do i stand on this?

It would be normal practice, where possible, to have separate facilities for men & women.

If there isn't one already, print off some Ladies/Gents signs and put them on the door, see if that does the trick?

My issue is that there are 2 separate toilets in the building, myself and the other girl keep our toilet clean, the lads toilet is lets say....well, not!!
This guy using ours now and i dont' want it to be the start of the all coming up to use the "nice" toilet, when the only reason it's nice is because myself and other girl keep it that way.
Not sure management would like me stick up a "ladies" on the door but i might do it anyway to see if anything is said.

Why don't you just say it to him/them and officially nominate one bathroom each for males and females? Can't see why anyone would object. As a guy, I have no desire to share a toilet facilities with women especially work colleagues.

Studied and worked in France for many years and all toilets were unisex even in large organisations and universities. Speak to the guy and embarass him into "cleaning as you go".
