Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good extractor fan that comes on when the light in the bathroom is turned on?
I need to fit one to attach to the underside of a concrete slab and a couple to attach to joists

Thanks

I won't be fitting it myself and my electrician no longer works in the field so he doesn't really know what's good and whats not these days.

Sparkeee,

you sound like an electrician, what type would you recommend??

All extractor fans can be wired to come on with the lighting and then stay on for a set time when the lights go off.

Remove the "with light" part from your post and you will get better replies. There are existing posts on this already if you search.

Does anyone know if it is feasible to have the light and fan on separate switches? Our builder told us the recommended standard was that they be on the same switch but I don't know if he's jut trying to get out of separating them....

Your builder is correct, but if you specifically want it on a separate switch, its a minor enough job, especially if the build is in the first fix stage..

No, we're snagging and he said he'd charge us to de-couple them. Sounds like he has a case as we didn't explicitly say we wanted them separate. Thanks for the info.

The fan cost nearly nothing to run so, unless you have a real gripe about it, i wouldnt worry about it..
