Bathroom and sanitary ware - quality or price...

Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me some direction...

it has now come to the stage where we have to choose bathroom ware. there seem to be huge price differences - you can get a bath for €160, or for €1000, toilets can be anything from €99 to €500. Shower trays and shower doors seem to have similar ranges. I have heard that Showerlux is one of the most expensive, but excellent quality, and can understand how quality is very important for say shower doors so they wont break etc, but with other things such as sinks, toilets and baths what should I look out for? is it just style and look or are there quality issues. I know that baths come in different strengths so that is important, but once you get passed the strength the price difference seems to come down to whether the taps are in the middle or the end etc.

I hope someone can direct me....

Many thanks,

Brigid.

Having looked at my post above again, I think I may have missed the question I am trying to raise...

What I really need to know is what are the high range, middle range and low range sanitary manufacturers. Without knowing the quality of the stuff you are buying it is difficult to assess whether it is good value. The people in the shops seem to say that it is all good quality even if there is a big price range, which they put down to style it seems.

Also is there any difficulty in using European taps bought on line in Ireland?

if you are using european taps just make sure they are suitable for the water pressure in your house. Most Irish homes have low pressure and some taps are not suitable.
