Basic MP3 player for 9 yr old

Please help! I have read through the other threads but nothing matches my dilemma above. I want to buy my son his first MP3 player and am basically looking for advice/recommendation on what to buy or look out for. I only want a relatively basic model,easy to use but yet one that will not be "dated" in the very near future. This whole MP3/ ipod lark is all new to me so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Argos have a nice little 1GB model for €29.99 at the moment; that'll hold about 15-18 CDs' worth of music — surely his collection isn't that extensive just yet?

These things just get cheaper all the time, so don't be tempted to 'invest' in one that'll do him for years. In any case, he's quite likely to drop/break/lose/swap it for a Mars bar or something, if he's a normal healthy 9-year-old boy.
