Hi, I am thinking of buying here but I see that approx. 1/3 of the houses remain empty. Any thoughts or insights?

Hi

Yes i think so. We viewed these houses about 2 years ago and at that time there was very few houses occupied, I also heard that there is problems with the water there and note that there is a halting site very close by.

In my opinion i would ask you to consider the opposite side of Newbridge. In estates such as Liffey Hall, Curragh Grange, Kilbelin Abbey, Walshestown. All of the above estate are well kept and a very nice area.

Hope this helps you decide.

The NIRSA's definition of a ghost estate is where there is a minimum of 10 separate units and where a minimum of 50 per cent of the houses are either unoccupied or incomplete.

Forget about definitions...Estates with incomplete houses & scaffolding are undesirable, especially when there are loads of house for sale in mature estates, though the "permanent scaffolding" feature or "piece of modern art" is built into the selling price.
