There are “2nd” level bank accounts available, parental authorisation is required if under 16.
All banks do them i believe, here is aib’s offering:
No fees, and they pay the small atm stamp duty charge as well.
BOI:
Fees and charges relating to the 2nd Level Current Account

If you have a free banking Revolut account, you can get a free Junior account, have one for my 15 year old, but find it a little restrictive, as the max i can transfer is €40 per month, which is fine for some months, but not others.
There are less restrictive options on a fee paying Revolut card
Previously reserved for customers paying a monthly fee, Revolut will now offer its Junior account to standard users in Ireland.
As i have bo intention of paying any fees nor do they ! , i’l likely add an Irish Bank, so they have Revolut for fx transactions, and no montly transfer restrictions, on main itish bank account.
N26 is my own favourite all rounder, for banking, but you have to be 18 to open an account. I am not aware of a teen account with them.
For long term savings- An Post 10 years, 16% risk free, no DIRT, & no charges, is hard to beat, the 5 year Saving Certs is 5 %.
The short term interest rates are practically zero in most cases, so for teens, think longer term and get some kind of guaranteed return.
