Bank sale - very slow process?

Just wondering if anyone else going through something similar? We placed an offer of 180k cash sale on a house mid-July. EA told us that he has other offer of 200k but they have to sell their property, but that he reckoned our offer was strong. We're still waiting! Estate agent is telling us that Bank won't get back to him. Totally frustrated about it. Has anyone any idea of how long these things take? Surely Bank want quick sale? We'd rather know one way or the other. If the Bank want to wait for higher bidder to sell then just let us know and we can try to move on and find another house....tho' have fallen in love with the one we put offer in on.

That's a long time to wait - if I were you, I would push for a response asap.

In my experience, and from chatting to a friend who is the director of a bank, the banks are looking for cash buyers and want to sell asap.

We purchased recently from a bank via a receiver and the whole process took just 4 weeks.

Can you bypass the EA and talk to someone at the Bank directly?

Thanks Delgirl....unfortunately no knowledge of Bank's name...tried today asking EA if we could hurry them on directly...but got a very definite NO! Good to hear tho' that your process was short and sweet. Losing hope here..have tried the deadline but it's constantly ignored.
