Hello. In 2008 I got approved for a mortgage through Bank of Ireland to build my house. Initially I drew down 2/3rds of the funds. However, I lost my job and so did not draw down the final third and I left the house with roof/windows etc and in good condition until I got myself employed again. Of course, during this time the banks have had their own problems!
I recently got employment again this year and my income is now the same if not more than it was in 2008. I made enquiries to the bank to now draw down by last payment. They are telling me they won't allow it as my circumstances have changed and they want me to apply for a new mortgage! Can they do this, I thought our agreement was in place in 2008 and there was no time restriction that I can see in our agreement on how long I had to draw this down.
I have never missed a re-payment on the money I have drawn down. My mortgage is tracker.
Anyone have any advice on what I should do? Thanks.
