Bank Draft

I need to get a bank draft for a fairly siginificant amount (around 15k). Do I need to give notice to my bank (Permanent TSB) before I get the draft seeing as it is such a large amount?
 
I got a bank draft for a slightly smaller amount from BOI on the spot with no notice. (It was a standard savings a/c that did not require any notice etc).

They did ask me for photo id though given the amount the draft was for.
 
I've gotten a bank draft from AIB in the past for 17k. Just walked in, the money was in my account, no problems at all!
 
Depends on the banks it appears....BOI Stephens Green now have a sign up saving 24hr notice required on withdrawals of 10K or more
 
The €10k or more would refer to cash withdrawals. There would be no problem getting a draft for that amount assuming you have correct ID etc.
 
Oh right, whats the difference, you need the money in your account for both transactions?
 
One you only need a draft the other you need cash. They need notice for large withdrawals to ensure they have the cash available.
