Ball point pen, mm sizes of point

I'm intending to do an evening class and was just about to buy a packet of black pens on eBay for general note taking during my class.

I notice there are various sizes quoted concerning the ball point.

One type is quoted as having the following;

0.3mm line with a 0.5mm ball

Is this too fine for general note taking?

I think the standard Bic is 1.0 mm so based on that, your example seems quite fine. Sounds like it would be more suitable for tech. drawing or something like that.

For any writing or note taking I like the Hi-Tecpoint V5 pens (not ball point) by Pilot which produce a 0.5 mm line.
