Balanced Flu Gas Fire

I would like to install a gas fire in my living room to replace a balanced flu one.
The existing one had a fan. I have been told my the local merchant that I can now get a Balanced flu fire without a fan. I would prefer to avoid the fan in case of an ESB cut in supplies.

Can any aam contributor guide me on this as the supplier does not seem to be familiar with the installation needs of this type of gas fire. I have spoken to the gas installation engineer who does not seem to be too sure either.

I think I would need one that the flu goes out directly, rather than exit from a raised position, in order to minimise the disturbance to the room.

The fire is on an end wall of the house with a chimney going half way on the end wall of the house.
Many thanks Browtal
