Baggage weight allowance on Airlingus

I'm going to Spain for a year and am finding it hard to only bring 20 kilos over with me. I would like to bring a second suitcase but the airlingus website doesn't specify whether, by paying to bring a second suitcase, that's an extra 20 kilos you can bring with you, or whether it still has to be a combined weight of 20 kilos between the 2 suitcases. Anyone have any ideas?
 
20 kilos is your total allowance, anything over that is charged at excess baggage rates, usually about €8 per kilo.
If you do a search for excess bagagge companies, it may be cheaper to get it shipped separately.
