I bought a new top end PC and 24" LCD from a store 6 weeks ago. The LCD has a pixel defect where one very bright red pixel is constantly on - very distracting when watching movies/anything with a black background.
Did not unpack for 2 weeks, then set up and saw the problem, but never got back to the store within the next 2 weeks. Went to store just after the 28 days but they referred me to the manufacturer. Called the manufacturer who said "less than 3 bad dot pixels are acceptable, no repair possible, we hope to improve this in the future" - not helpful to me now tho!. Back to store, no joy. Back to manufacturer, no joy.
I don't feel this is acceptable quality for a high end monitor. Is it "fit for purpose", "of merchantable quality", "as described"? I obviously couldn't see or test the unit in the store to spot the defect and could only do this at home.
Has anyone any advice on how to proceed and chances of a good outcome? I would like to get a replacement LCD of the same brand and model. Thanks!
