my husband ordered 2 car doors from a company in galway. When he spoke to the guy on the phone he said that the doors were perfect. well when they arrived there was a big dent on both and some of the paint came of and 1 was rusted.
He phoned and said they were no good and wanted a refund.
The guy said he could get a refund but wouldnt get the delivery back. 30 euro.
it also means that my hubby will have to pay another 30euro to send it back so he'll be out 60euro in total.
is there anyway to sort it. what should be done?

If he bought online, he is protected by the Distance Selling Directive;
[broken link removed]

it wasnt online, he didnt actually see the doors. the guy assured him they were nearly perfect though.
Can yous suggest anything to say to the guy on the phone to make him take notice?

The Small Claims Court would be an option in this case. The goods weren't as described, so he should not be at a loss.

Thanks Leo and complainer and cashier,
Seems a bit harsh talking about court, i was hoping on something that i could say to him to make take it seriously or something i could quote to make him pay up without all that hassle.

yeah,
Our car is a jap import so we're screwed for local scrap yards. only 1 in dublin and 1 in galway. the galway 1 will not be getting any recommendations from my hubby or any1 we know in the future.
Thanks anyway.

Did you read the link that I posted;

Shopping from home is also known as 'distance selling' and includes purchases made by e-mail, fax, telephone, Internet shopping and mail order.

Never got an invoice or a receipt.
