Hi,
My daughter is travelling to the US on a J1 with USIT. They are charging 120 euro for backpacker insurance but I have source a much cheaper policy. If she takes this cheaper policy, USIT want her to get the insurance company to sign a form stating that the cover is as good as their (it's better in parts) BUT they also want to charge a "handling fee" of 30 euro. I think this is a total ripoff. I have no difficulity with a small charge for what's involved - reading it the policy. Takes 10 mins and they want to charge 30euro. Anyone know if they are within their rights to do this. I'd like to find out from a regulatory body about this. Anyone know who this might be?
