back to school allowance ?

Do you mean the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Scheme? Applications have been taken in by CWOs in health centres since early June, and they're processed as quickly as possible in most areas so payments should be issuing at this time.

If you left in an application form some time ago and haven't heard anything, you should contact your CWO just in case there was a difficulty with your application.
 
I heard a guy on the radio talking about this - interestingly it's payed for children from 2 years onwards. I presumed it was only for children going to school - I never considered preschool.
 
It is payable for children up to 22 years - provided they're still in full-time education and the parent/guardian is receiving a SW payment in respect of the student.
