My partner is just a month away from finishing his first year at college and we received the BTEA allowance plus an allowance for me as a qualyifying adult, plus allowance for our two children. I want to go into self employment but due to my health, it is essential that I keep my medical card. I do not plan for my self employment earnings to be massive, somewhere around 150 to 200. My query is will we lose the amount we receive for me and the two children, will we lose out on the secondary benefit of medical card and supplemented childcare. I really want to work and contribute to society and I am highly educated, but due to my health self employment is my only option. Hopefully someone can help, as there is plenty of info if your partner is working in a job, but not self employment. Thanks
